报告内容提要
By combining the sensitive optical absorption contrast and high ultrasound resolution, photoacoustic tomography (PAT) emerges as a novel non-invasive, non-ionizing biomedical imaging modality. PAT can break through the barrier in the imaging depth of pure high resolution optical imaging methods. In addition, it provides both in vivo functional and molecular images. Over the fast development during the past decade, PAT has successfully obtained many achievements in small animal and pre-clinical experiments. Our research team are developing several imaging systems based on this novel imaging modality. We give a brief review of PAT in biomedicine, including the fundamental mechanism, diverse research fields and potential for broad clinical applications.
