"Frontiers in Biomedical Research, HKU 2009", the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine's flagship annual research symposium to be held on Friday, December 4, 2009.
Since its inauguration in 2002, the Frontiers in Biomedical Research Symposium has established itself as a reputable platform for the exchange of cutting edge research and know how in biomedical science. The major themes of the Symposium will synchronize with our Faculty's five strategic research areas, namely Cancer, Healthy Aging, Infection and Immunology, Public Health, and Reproduction and Development. An additional theme of Neuromedicine with a focus on the scientific approaches for understanding neurological diseases and developing novel treatment strategies has been introduced this year to enrich the scientific programme. The sponsors are delighted to have invited prominent international experts from around the world and distinguished local researchers to share the most recent discoveries on their research.
