北京大学器官移植研究所是2013年由北京大学器官移植中心（成立于2001年）更名成立的，是国内著名的器官移植研究机构。研究所由北京大学人民医院以及北京大学第一医院、北京大学第三医院、北京大学国际医院等北京大学附属的医疗机构和相关科室联合组成。研究所主体位于北京大学人民医院，由北京大学人民医院肝胆外科朱继业教授担任所长,李照副教授担任所长助理。朱继业教授现为中国人体器官捐献与移植委员会委员，中国医师协会器官移植分会副会长，北京医学会器官移植分会主任委员 ,中华医学会器官移植学会肝移植学组副组长,中华医学会外科学会器官移植学组副组长。在国内外肝移植领域有很高的学术影响力。

北京大学器官移植所作为主办单位召开了系列国际肝移植领域的重要学术会议，例如首次受国际学术组织委托召开国际肝移植学会（ILTS）亚太地区年会，获得了广泛的国际影响力。受原卫生部部长陈竺院士和黄洁夫副部长委托，北京大学器官移植研究所牵头组织了脑死亡相关问题研讨会，推动我国器官移植事业的进步。北京大学人民医院率先开展脑死亡（DBD）捐献，并于2013年完成了北京市首例心脏死亡供体捐献（DCD）肝移植手术。

此外研究所还完成了大量肾移植和角膜移植手术，在儿童肾移植方面也有很高的学术影响力。目前已累计完成肝脏移植1500余例，肾移植近3000例，肝移植术后患者1年存活率达到90%，肝移植的数量和质量均在北方地区各家医疗单位中居于前列，在北京市肝移植准入评分排名中总分位列第一位。在北京率先开展活体肝移植手术，完成了活体扩大右半肝、右半肝及左半肝移植手术以及复杂儿童活体肝移植手术。北京大学人民医院作为北京市器官移植肝移植医师培训基地，培养了大批肝移植领域的人才，同时协助北京大学国际医院成功获得肝移植资质。研究所先后举办了四届全国肝移植学习班，先后为全国各地培训了许多的肝移植专科医生，更是在2017年在北京大学校本部主办了第六届中国移植运动会，造成了广泛良好的社会影响。

研究所一直致力于移植相关免疫耐受的基础研究，所依附的实验室为北京市肝硬化肝癌基础研究重点实验室，在移植免疫耐受的诱导及临床转化、干细胞定向分化、新型免疫抑制剂的作用机制研究、活体肝移植精准评估体系、DCD供体的评估和维护、肝癌肝移植预后评估体系的建立等科研方面取得了卓著的成绩。研究团队通过体外转化并扩增免疫抑制效力更强的双阴性调节T细胞，成熟建立了该细胞的体外转化、扩增、纯化的技术方案，并且通过研究其与B细胞的相互作用机制，发现其对B细胞的直接杀伤和抑制作用，并创新性的将其应用于慢性排斥反应动物模型中，得到了很好的实验结果，为进一步向临床转化治疗移植顽疾慢性排斥反应提供了一个新的潜在治疗途径。共计获得了国家自然科学基金6项，973子课题2项，卫生重大公益科研专项1项，国际交流合作项目1项，发表SCI论文100多篇，是目前国内规模最大、学术水平最高的器官移植研究机构之一。

Peking University Institute of Organ Transplantation

     The Peking University Institute of Organ Transplantation was renamed in 2013 from the Peking University Organ Transplantation Center (established in 2001) and is a renowned organ transplantation research institution in China. The institute is jointly composed of Peking University People's Hospital, Peking University First Hospital, Peking University Third Hospital, Peking University International Hospital, and other affiliated medical institutions and related departments of Peking University. The main body of the institute is located at Peking University People's Hospital, with Professor Zhu Jiye from the Hepatobiliary Surgery Department of Peking University People's Hospital serving as the director, and Associate Professor Li Zhao as the assistant director. Professor Zhu Jiye is currently a member of the China Organ Donation and Transplantation Committee, the chairman of the Beijing Medical Association Organ Transplantation Branch, the vice chairman of the Liver Transplantation Group of the Chinese Medical Association Organ Transplantation Society, and the vice chairman of the Organ Transplantation Group of the Chinese Medical Association Surgery Society. He is also the vice president of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association Organ Transplantation Branch and has significant academic influence in the field of liver transplantation both domestically and internationally.

    As the host institution, the Peking University Institute of Organ Transplantation has held important academic conferences in the field of international liver transplantation, such as the Second Annual Meeting of the International Liver Transplantation Society (ILTS) Asia-Pacific Region, gaining extensive international influence. The institute has led the organization of seminars on brain death-related issues, promoting the progress of organ transplantation in China. Peking University People's Hospital was the first to initiate brain death (DBD) donation and completed Beijing's first liver transplantation surgery using a donation after cardiac death (DCD) donor in 2013.

    In addition, the institute also conducts kidney and corneal transplants and has significant academic influence in pediatric kidney transplantation. To date, the institute has completed over 1,000 liver transplants and nearly 3,000 kidney transplants, with a one-year survival rate of over 90% for liver transplant patients. The quantity and quality of liver transplants rank first among medical institutions in northern China, and the institute scores the highest in Beijing's liver transplant accreditation ratings. The institute pioneered living donor liver transplantation in Beijing, completing extended right lobe, right lobe, and left lobe liver transplants, as well as complex pediatric living donor liver transplants. Peking University People's Hospital, as the liver transplant physician training base in Beijing, has trained a large number of professionals in the field of liver transplantation and assisted Peking University International Hospital in successfully obtaining liver transplant accreditation. The institute has hosted four national liver transplant training courses, training many liver transplant specialists from across the country, and organized the 6th China Transplant Games in 2017, creating a widespread and positive social impact.

    The institute has been committed to basic research on transplant-related immune tolerance. The affiliated laboratory is the Beijing Key Laboratory of Liver Cirrhosis and Liver Cancer Basic Research, achieving remarkable results in research areas such as the induction and clinical translation of transplant immune tolerance, stem cell directional differentiation, the mechanism of action of new immunosuppressants, a precise evaluation system for living donor liver transplantation, the evaluation and maintenance of DCD donors, and the establishment of a prognostic evaluation system for liver cancer liver transplantation. The research team has successfully transformed and expanded double-negative regulatory T cells with stronger immunosuppressive effects in vitro, established a technical protocol for the in vitro transformation, expansion, and purification of these cells, and discovered their direct killing and inhibitory effects on B cells by studying their interaction mechanisms with B cells. Innovatively applying these cells to animal models of chronic rejection has yielded excellent experimental results, providing a new potential therapeutic approach for the clinical treatment of chronic rejection in transplantation. The institute has received three National Natural Science Foundation projects, two 973 sub-projects, one public health research special project, and one international exchange and cooperation project, and has published over 100 SCI papers. It is one of the largest and most academically advanced organ transplantation research institutions in China.
