北京大学医学分子生物学研究中心成立于上世纪九十年代，由当时的生物化学与分子生物学系主任张迺蘅教授创建。北京大学医学分子生物学研究中心确定了打造国际著名国内领先的医学分子生物学实验室为规划，预期在肿瘤的发生发展及转移的分子机制、衰老的作用机制、细胞自噬等方面取得标志性成果，形成一支相对稳定的高素质人才队伍，与国际接轨的实验研究平台及科研管理体制，建立基础研究平台的新标杆。

研究领域及方向：

以重要蛋白质的翻译后修饰为核心问题，探讨蛋白质在生理或病理条件下不同的修饰与肿瘤发生发展，细胞的衰老或干细胞发育及分化的关系；研究影响肿瘤发生发展的关键因素；确定细胞衰老的规律，并探讨在干细胞的发育及分化中重要蛋白质的修饰作用。深入了解影响和调节蛋白质修饰的过程和规律，阐明蛋白质修饰在干细胞特性的维持和定向分化中的作用。

       本实验室依托国家重点学科，拥有以尚永丰院士为首的高层次学术梯队，共有研究人员42名，包括 “长江学者奖励计划”特聘教授1名，国家自然科学基金委“国家杰出青年基金”获得者1名，“国家优秀青年基金” 获得者2名，“新世纪优秀人才”4名，博士生导师12名，硕士生导师6名，团队科研力量雄厚。近年来，承担多项国家重点研发项目、国家自然科学基金重大和重点项目等课题。

本实验室秉承北京大学的传统，力争达到国际先进水平，经过不断的努力，近年来在国际刊物发表高水平论文多篇，包括《Nature Reviews Cancer》、《Nature Cell Biology》、《Nature Cancer》、《Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy》、《Molecular Cell》、《Cell Research》、《Autophagy》、《PNAS》、《Nature Communications》等。

Peking University Medical Molecular Biology Research Center

Peking University Medical Molecular Biology Research Center was founded in 1990s. The center aimed to build a leading medical molecular biology laboratory and to achieve landmark achievements in the molecular mechanism of tumor occurrence, development and metastasis, the mechanism of aging and so on.

The research work is mainly focused on the roles of post translational modifications in following fields: epigenetic regulation and molecular mechanism of cancer; molecular mechanism of cellular senescence and ageing; stem cell differentiation and application and molecular mechanism of infectious diseases.

Peking University Medical Molecular Biology Research Center has 1 Academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences, 1 “National Outstanding Youth Fund” funded member by The National Natural Science Foundation of China, 2 “National Excellent Youth Fund” funded member by The National Natural Science Foundation of China, 4 “New Century Excellent Researcher”, 12 Ph.D. supervisors and 6 Master supervisors.
