北京大学儿童视觉中心成立于1985年,前身为北京医科大学儿童视觉研究中心,第一任主任由我国著名眼科学家,医学教育专家,眼科老一辈开拓者之一刘家琦教授担任,是我国最早系统开展婴幼儿及儿童视觉发生发育及遗传相关研究工作的研究机构。
中心的研究领域主要为:
视觉发育领域:视觉发育敏感期皮层突触形成可塑性研究;儿童视觉及智能虚拟现实训练软件研制(合作);先天性白内障的治疗及视觉发育的研究;婴幼儿视力客观评价与儿童视觉发育相关疾病研究;早产儿视力客观评价与视觉发育规律研究。
弱视研究领域:弱视动物模型的多导VEPs和VEP 拓扑图研究;弱视发病机理的神经生理学实验研究;发育性弱视视抑制机理的实验研究;弱视动物模型视路突触NMDA受体机能研究;弱视新疗法的实验性研究;斜视性弱视动物模型图形视诱发电位地形图;弱视眼视网膜功能的多焦ERG研究。
近视领域:阿扑吗啡在视觉发育不同时期对近视的影响;阿扑吗啡对鸡近视模型的影响及对角膜、视网膜的毒性作用;猴近视模型的建立;神经介质对实验性近视眼的抑制作用。
北京大学儿童视觉中心多次获得国家级,卫生部,教育部,北京市及北京医科大学科技成果奖,被列为卫生部十年百项推广成果,承担过国家级科研课题10余项。
其中“儿童弱视的治疗”在1981年被授予市级三等奖,“儿童弱视的治疗和立体视”在1984年被授予“市级二等奖”,1985年被授予部委级一等奖,1987年被授予国家进步三等奖。“多导记录VEPs地形图及空间分析临床实验研究”在1991年获得医学部级奖。“背景与目标在视神经元信息处理中的作用”在1995年曾获得部委级三等奖。
北京大学儿童视觉中心承担过国家级科研课题10余项。其中包括国家科委科研课题“婴幼儿先天性白内障手术及其弱视治疗对视觉发育的影响”。作为科研协作单位承担国家“十五”攻关课题,“儿童视觉及智能虚拟现实训练软件研制”,人事部科技项目“婴幼儿视力客观评价与儿童视觉发育相关疾病研究”和“早产儿视力客观评价与视觉发育规律研究”。
北京大学儿童视觉中心近年来在国内外核心期刊上发表多篇论著。1991年研究成果“弱视与斜视研究”获得卫生部十年百项推广成果。与北京大学信息科学系与心理学系共同研制电子化低龄儿童视力自动检测系统,获国家专利(201510919621.4),“儿童视力自动评估系统研发与应用”获得2018年首都转化医学研究专项基金,其研发成功及成果转化后,有望为低龄儿童客观视力检查开辟新方法。

Peking University Children Vision Institute was established in 1985, its predecessor is Beijing Medical University vision institute. The first director of institute is Dr. Liu Jiaqi, the best-known Chinese pioneer ophthalmologist and medical education expert. Our institute is the first institute started the research on visual development in infant and children, and human genetic associated research.
Major Research Field
Visual development field: The plasticity of connections of synapses in visual cortex during the sensitive period of visual development; Children intelligent virtual reality visual training software development (collaborating center); Congenital cataract management and visual development; Objective evaluation of visual acuity in infant and the research of visual development related disease in children; The objective evaluation of visual acuity and visual development in premature.
Amblyopia field: Multi-channel VEPs and VEP topography in amblyopia animal model; Experimental study of neurophysiology in amblyopia; Experimental study of developmental amblyopia suppression mechanism; NMDA receptor of synapsis in visual pathway in amblyopia animal model. Experimental study of new amblyopia treatment; Pattern VEP topography in strabismus/amblyopia animal model; Multifocal ERG in retina functional research of amblyopia eye;
Myopia field: Effects of apomorphine in visual development; Effects of apomorphine and its toxicity in corneal and retina in chicken model of myopia; Use of macaque model in myopia; Inhibitory effect of neuromediums in experimental myopia.
Many awards have been granted for Peking University Children Vision Institute: “the third one of the National Award of Science and Technology Achievement”, “The first and second given by the Ministry of Sanitation”, “The National Award of Science and Technology Achievement, Beijing city”, “The Advanced Technique Award of Peking Medical University ”, all of which are included in the one hundred developing subjects by the Ministry of Sanitation within ten years, and really undertakes more then 10 national projects.
“Amblyopia management in children” was awarded the third prize of city-level science and Technology Achievement in 1981. “Amblyopia management and Stereopsis in children” was awarded second prize of city-level science and Technology Achievement in 1985, the first prize of Ministry-level science and Technology Achievement in 1985, the third prize of the National Award of Science and Technology Achievement in 1987. “Clinical study of multi-channel VEPs topography and spatial frequency analysis” was awarded The Advanced Technique Award of Peking Medical University in 1991. “Effect of background and target in visual neurons” was award third prize of Ministry-level science and Technology Achievement in 1995.
Peking University Children Vision Institute have really undertakes more then 10 national projects. Including the State Science and Technology Commission project-“Effects of congenital cataract operation and amblyopia management in visual development of infant and young children”, as the collaborating center in Science-Technology Project of the National 'Tenth Five-Year-Plan' of China-“Children intelligent virtual reality visual training software development”, ministry of personnel Science-Technology Project-“Objective evaluation of visual acuity in infant and the research of visual development related disease in children” and “The objective evaluation of visual acuity and visual development in premature”.
Many of the research results have been published in domestic and international core journals. “The results of amblyopia and strabismus research” was included in the one hundred developing subjects by the Ministry of Sanitation within ten years in 1991. Cooperative project with the Department of information science and the department of Psychology in Peking University “Automatic young children visual acuity evaluation system”(Patent No. 201510919621.4) obtained China national invention patent.” The development and application of automatic children visual acuity evaluation system” access to the special fund of capital translational medicine research in 2018. After achievement transformation, this system will be a novel method to objective evaluation young children’s visual acuity.
