   作为我国最早创办的国立西医医院——北京大学第一医院首批科室,皮肤性病科创建于1915年,她也是中国最早的国立皮肤性病科。百年历史中,皮肤科名家辈出,一直是全国皮肤科的引领力量之一。2003年首批获评教育部国家重点学科,其后又首批成为教育部创新团队、北京市皮肤病分子诊断重点实验室、卫生部临床重点专科。2019年获批皮肤科领域唯一的国家皮肤与免疫疾病临床医学研究中心。

   依托国家级平台,确定工作宗旨为“以临床应用为目标,开展基础和临床研究,强调创新成果的转化应用、推动诊疗水平不断提高,并为全国诊疗水平均质化做出贡献”。中心四个重点领域分别是“威胁生命的皮肤肿瘤”、“严重影响生活质量的重症自身免疫性皮肤病”、“患病率极高的过敏性、炎症性皮肤病”以及“具有广泛社会影响及涉及跨学科联动的性病、真菌感染等感染性皮肤病”;两个重点方向分别是“基于分子平台的精准诊治研究”和“大数据与人工智能研究”。中心将作为公共平台对外开放,并以多中心合作研究作为特色,希望联合全国力量针对重症和高发皮肤疾患摸清流行病学特点、研究推广精准诊治技术与设备、探索人群防治策略。围绕皮肤科的特色与未来发展趋势,中心还将打造皮肤科人才培育工程、医疗实践规范化推广工程等。

   目前科室有感染性皮肤病、免疫相关皮肤病、皮肤肿瘤与皮肤病理、皮肤罕见病、皮肤生理与屏障五支完善的研究团队;每年在读研究生50余人,在岗来自全国的进修医师40余人。

   科室在临床方面设置了12个亚专业,病例数据库和标本库完备,能够开展常规分子生物学、细胞学、组织学研究,拥有质谱仪、共聚焦显微镜、流式细胞仪等专用设备。科室在过去10年内牵头及参与的临床研究过百项;牵头或参与制定国内外皮肤病领域相关指南30余项,涉及感染性皮肤病、免疫相关皮肤病、重症皮肤病等领域等;曾获得国自然重点项目、国家重点研发专项等重大项目。

   目前科室拥有“科技部创新领军人才”、“中组部青年拔尖人才”、“优青”、“新世纪人才”、“中组部托举人才”等骨干力量。借助国家临床医学研究中心的建设,在空间、硬件、人才政策等方面都获得了巨大支持,而且支持仍在继续,故而北京大学第一医院皮肤性病科正处于快速发展期。近5年来团队发表文章百余篇,其中影响因子大于5分的超过40篇,影响因子大于10分的超过10篇,其中多篇发表在NEJM、Nature Genetics、Lancet、JACI、Blood、JID等高水平杂志上。既往学科团队科室首个发现红斑肢痛症的致病基因,在国际上首次命名罕见遗传病—PLACK综合征,团队还首次阐述副肿瘤性天疱疮的发病机理,首次发现固有免疫缺陷在暗色真菌感染中的重要作用,首次发现SATB1在皮肤淋巴瘤中的致病机制及其在皮肤淋巴瘤的诊断及分子分型中的重要作用。 学科团队推动了全国皮肤科住院医师规培及专培体系的建设;率先推广Mohs显微描记手术、皮肤镜诊断等诊疗体系;已经为全国培养近百位皮肤科主任。

   National Clinical Research Center for Skin and Immune Diseases

   Peking University First Hospital Department of Dermatology and Venerology

  

   As the earliest established departments in the first national western medical hospital (Peking university first hospital, PUFH), the department of dermatology and venerology at PUFH was founded in 1915. It was also the earliest national dermatology department in China. During the last 100 years, there appeared a number of distinguished dermatologists in our department, who were always the most leading power of dermatology area in China. Our department was entitled as the “National Key Discipline of Ministry of Education” in 2003, then awarded as “Beijing Key Laboratory of Molecular Diagnosis on Dermatoses” and “Clinical Key Specialty of Ministry of Health”. In 2019, our department was granted as “National Clinical Research Center for Skin and Immune Diseases”.

   Research Direction

   Relying on the national platform, our work purpose will focus on the five aspects, including “aiming at clinical application, developing fundamental and clinical research, emphasizing translational application of innovations, improving diagnosis and therapy level, and trying to make a contribution to medical homogenization throughout the country”. There are four key fields in our center, including “Life-threatening skin tumors”, “Severe autoimmune skin diseases that seriously affects the quality of life”, “High prevalent allergic and inflammatory skin diseases”, “Sexually transmitted disease and fungal infections that has a broad impact and involves multiple subjects”. Our two emphasized directions are “Precise diagnosis and treatment based on molecular level” and “Big data and artificial intelligence research”. Our center will open to the public and cooperate with other centers. We hope to figure out the characteristics of severe and high-prevalent skin diseases by the effort of the whole country. And we will investigate and promote precise diagnostic and therapeutic technology and equipments . Besides, we will work out disease prevention strategy. Centering on our features and future tendency, we will also focus on dermatology talents training program and standardization of medical practice.

   Research Teams and awards

   There are 5 well-developed research teams in our department in total, specializing on infectious skin diseases, immune related skin diseases, skin tumor and dermatopathology, skin physiology and skin barrier respectively. There are more than 50 graduate students and over 40 visiting scholars every year.

   We have set up 12 sub-professionals and completed skin sample database. Besides, we have enough condition to carry out molecular biology experiments, cytology experiments and histological studies. Our lab is very well equipped, which including mass spectrometer, confocal microscope, flow cytometry and other experimental facilities. In the past 10 years, we led and participated in more than 100 clinical trials of new drugs. We led and took part in making more than 30 guidelines, involving infectious disease, immunity, severe dermatoses and other diseases. Moreover, our department was acquired a number of “Key Grants of National Natural Science Foundation of China”, and “National key research and developmental projects”.

   Meanwhile, there are many excellent physician scientists in our department, who are awarded as “Innovative leading talent of Ministry of Science and Technology”, “Top young talent of Central Organization Department”, “Outstanding Youth of National natural funding”, “Talent of the New Century”, and “Potential young talent of Central Organization Department”.

   Depending on the platform of national clinical research center, we have gained enough support on the space, equipments and talents. Fortunately, our support was quite enough, thus our department can develop very rapidly.

   Major research achievements

   Our department has published more than 100 papers during the recent 5 years. Among these, IF>5 papers are over 40 and IF>10 papers are over 10. And a number of papers are published on top journals, like NEJM, Nature Genetics, Lancet, JACI, Blood, JID, etc.

   The mutant gene of erythromelalgia was firstly reported by our genetic group, and they named a new genodermatosis, PLACK syndrome in the world. Besides, the pathobiology of paraneoplastic pemphigus was illuminated by our blistering diseases team initially. Moreover, fungal diseases team firstly identified innate immunology plays a very significant part in the infection of dematiaceous fungi. And regarding oncological aspect, we have identified SATB1 is a key role in the mechanism of cutaneous T cell lymphoma development, and can be served as a promising molecule in CTCL diagnosis and classification.

   Our department has set up and promoted the domestic standardization of dermatology residents training program and fellowship training program. Mohs micrographic surgery and dermoscopy were initially carried out in our department. Besides, we have already trained almost 100 chairmen of other dermatology departments in China.
