2011年9月，在原国家卫生部口腔医学计算机应用工程技术研究中心基础上（1995年），北京大学口腔医学院申报的“口腔数字化医疗技术和材料国家工程实验室”获国家发改委批准启动建设。2015年8月通过教育部组织的验收。

　　口腔数字化医疗技术和材料国家工程实验室秉承“瞄准世界前沿科技水平，着重自主创新研发”，以“面向行业重大需求，引领行业技术发展”为宗旨。从我国口腔临床医疗实际需求出发，采用最新的科学与工程技术手段及材料，研究和开发以“精细、准确、高效、个性、自动”为目标的口腔数字化临床医疗技术、装备与材料。以高技术手段来提高临床医疗质量和水平，提高医疗效率，满足日益增加的口腔医疗保健需求。

　　国家工程实验室包括：口腔三维多源数据技术平台、计算机辅助诊断及设计技术平台、口腔数字化制造技术平台、导航及手术辅助机器人技术平台、口腔医疗技术和材料评价与临床验证平台、新型口腔材料研发平台6个研发平台。目前拥有一支70人左右、知识和年龄结构合理的高水平研发团队，在人工智慧及医疗大数据、机器人医疗自动化、非侵入式先进诊疗技术、生物3D打印及组织工程等方向进行重点研发。在国内外研究同行中产生了较为广泛的学术影响，实现了在口腔数字化医疗技术和材料研发领域的国际、国内多项原始创新，相关科研条件和研究水平也达到同领域国际先进水平。实验室积极开展开放技术服务，与行业企业多方面合作，促进口腔行业的进步发展。

　　国家工程实验室将建成对国内、外开放的，环境、设备和能力水平一流的，集口腔医疗数字化技术与材料的应用研究、工程化开发、临床验证、标准研究、人才培养、国际交流和技术服务推广等多功能于一体的研究与开发平台，成为推动我国口腔数字化医疗技术和材料成果产业化的中间纽带与桥梁。

　　National Engineering Laboratory for Digital and Material Technology of Stomatology

　　Research Center of Engineering and Technology for Computerized Dentistry was first approved to set up by the Ministry of Health in 199 In 2011, the National Engineering Lab is born with the approval of NDRC (National Development and Reform Commission) and has passed acceptance check by Ministry of Education on August, 2015.

　　On the goal of facing key demands and leading field development, the National Engineering Lab focuses on state of the art technology and emphasizes on innovative research and production. Based domestic dental needs, the lab implements the latest science and engineering techniques and material research on dental digital techniques, equipment and material with the goal of accuracy, precision, efficiency , individualized and automation.

　　The national engineering lab comprises of the platform is for Multi-source 3D Data Technology; for Computer Aided Diagnosis and Design; for Digital Manufacturing Technology; for Navigation and Robot Aided Surgery Technology; for Evaluation and Clinical Verification of Technologies and Materials and for New Materials.

　　Our research team is a high tech research group with 70 around talents. We focus on research of A.I.and big data, robot medical automatic research, noninvasive technology for diagnose and treatment, 3D biological engineering printing research.

　　Our researches have a wide impact both abroad and home. We have achieved many innovations in various fields. The national engineering lab has opened service support and cooperated with many companies and enterprises.

　　The national digital lab will become a research and development platform combining dental digital and material technology research, engineering development, clinical evaluation, standard research, talent cultivation, international communication and service support.
