北京大学人民医院在国内较早开展了骨肿瘤的研究与诊治工作：1984年由冯传汉建立了国内首个骨肿瘤骨病研究室。北京大学人民医院骨肿瘤科成立于1997年，2002年郭卫教授接任骨肿瘤科主任，2003年骨肿瘤科正式更名为北京大学人民医院骨与软组织肿瘤治疗中心，自此逐渐引领中国骨肿瘤诊疗事业不断发展，在骨盆、骶骨、脊柱肿瘤切除与重建，恶性骨与软组织肿瘤保肢治疗，骨肿瘤化疗综合治疗，以及基础研究等方面做出了杰出贡献。2013年实验室被评为骨与软组织肿瘤北京市重点实验室。

　　骨与软组织肿瘤的临床与基础研究：1）骨与软组织肿瘤遗传信息库的管理与运行；2）骨与软组织肿瘤的分子生物学基础研究3）新型抗肿瘤药物的筛选与测定4）新型肿瘤型人工关节及假体的生物力学和临床应用

　　北京大学人民医院骨与软组织肿瘤治疗中心为教育部及卫生部国家重点学科，现设两个病区，一个骨与软组织肿瘤研究北京市重点实验室。开放床位数99张，医师人数25人，其中教授、主任医师6人，副教授7人，主治医师7人，住院医师5人，护士38人，副研究员1人，实验室技术人员2人。其中15人具有国外研究经历。

　　重点实验室现有面积1515平方米，拥有流式细胞仪，超低温冰箱，全封闭组织脱水机，石蜡切片机，荧光显微镜，超低温高速离心机，培养箱，生物安全柜，超微量紫外分光光度计，凝胶成像仪，精确切骨机，实时定量PCR仪，PCR仪等5万元以上的设备近百件，设备总金额2135万元。

　　近五年来，重点实验室承担各类国家级省部级项目13余项，总额度1000多万元；发表各种论著150篇，其中SCI论著50篇；申请国家发明专利3项，并均获得授权；主编论著8部；《原发恶性骨肿瘤的规范化切除及功能重建的系列研究》荣获2014年国家科学科技进步奖二等奖和2013年中华医学科技进步奖一等奖。

　　Peking University People's Hospital carried out the research on bone tumors earlier in China. In 1984, the first bone tumor research lab was founded by Feng Chuanhan in China. The orthopedic oncology department was founded in 1997. Prof. Wei Guo was then assigned as the head as Prof. Xu resigned in 2002 and the division was officially named as the Musculoskeletal Tumor Center in 2003. With efforts of several generations, the center has been recognized as the National Key Institute for Sarcoma

　　Treatment and known as a renowned sarcoma center around the world. Besides, our center has gained tremendous achievement in basic research. And our laboratory was rated as Key Laboratory of Beijing for Sarcoma Research in 2013.

　　The basic and clinical study of Musculoskeletal tumor：1）the operation and management of bone and soft tissue tumor bank；2）Molecular biology research of bone and soft tissue tumors；3）Screening and determination of new antitumor drugs；4）The biomechanical and clinical application of new type artificial joint and prosthesis。

　　The M.S.T.C., PKUPH is the Key Discipline for National Ministry of Education and Health, which includes two inpatient wards and one laboratory. We have 99 open beds for patients and 25 physicians in this department, of whom there are 6 professors, 7 associate professors, 7 consultants, 5 residents. There are also 38 nurses, one associate researcher as well as two lab technicians in our group. 15 of them have research experience abroad.

　　The area of the key laboratory is 1515 square meters and there are hundreds of devices totally worth up to ten million(CNY).

　　For the last five years, we have successfully applied 13 funds which include National Science Funds and Beijing science and Technology Funds and so on. The total amount of funds is approximate ten millions (CNY).We have published more than 150 papers, of which there are more than 50 SCIs (Science Citation Index). And we won 3 National patents of invention and had edited 8 monographs and textbooks.

　　The research achievement “Series of research on standardize resection and reconstruction of primary bone sarcomas”won the first prize of Chinese Medical Scientific and Technological Progress award   in 2013 and the second prize of National Award for Scientific and Technological Progress in 2014.
