脊柱疾病研究北京市重点实验室

   

    脊柱疾病研究北京市重点实验室前身是北医三院骨科实验室,成立于19世纪70年代。脊柱疾病研究北京市重点实验室于2011年获得北京市科委批准,依托于北京大学第三医院进行建设。2015年北京市科委的绩效考评中获得优良成绩。2016年我国第一个3D打印人工椎体、人工CAGE上市。2017年,3D打印人工椎体签署科研成果转化协议,首期转化1000万元。实验室正努力打造成“科学研究的基地,人才培育的摇篮,成果转化的平台”。

以临床脊柱疾患为导向,开展转化医学,探索解决临床难题。围绕①畸形、脊柱肿瘤、骨质疏松等退行性脊柱改变的发病机制、筛选新的治疗靶点,开发实用诊疗技术;②开发复杂性寰枢椎脱位的临床诊疗及基础研究;③脊柱肿瘤的诊疗技术及相关基础进行攻关;④研发具有自主知识产权的骨科内植物、骨组织工程、骨愈合理论和技术,促进基础研究结果向临床转化,努力提升脊柱疾病防治的整体水平。

实验室现有固定人员32人,其中具有副高以上职称的25人。实验室有中国康复医学会脊柱脊髓损伤专业委员会副主任委员1人,中国康复医学会常务理事1人,北京骨质疏松和骨矿盐疾病青年委员会副主任委员1人,中华医学会骨质疏松和骨矿盐疾病分会委员1人,中华医学会骨科学分会常委3人,AO国际脊柱外科学会中国理事会理事2人,卫生部突出贡献中青年专家2人,教育部创新团队学术带头人1人,教育部新世纪优秀人才1人,北京市科技新星2人。各级各类专业学术任职139人次。

重点实验室现设分子生物学、细胞生物学、骨组织形态学、分子影像学、生物力学、神经电生理、临床药物试验、临床流行病学八个技术平台,拥有硬组织切磨片系统、小动物X线机、小动物骨密度仪、micro/SPECT-CT、原子力显微镜/纳米压痕仪、生物力学反应器、硬组织切片显微观察系统等骨科特色的研究设备并提供开放服务,初步具备完整的科研随访团队。

在脊柱疑难重症相关治疗技术的革新、理论的创新及推广普及、等方面均取得了较大发展。获得省部级以上奖项14项。

“立足临床,服务临床”,在脊柱疑难重症相关治疗技术的发展、改进与完善、脊柱疑难重症外科治疗相关理论及应用基础研究三个方面均取得了较大发展。近年来,加强产学研一体化研究,结合临床实际需求,刘忠军教授率领团队开展脊柱外科的3D打印植入物研究。2014年,完成世界首例应用3D打印技术人工定制枢椎治疗寰枢椎恶性肿瘤;2015年骨科参与研制的我国首个3D打印人体植入物——人工髋关节产品获得国家食品药品监督管理总局(CFDA)注册批准;2016年,3D打印人体植入物——椎体假体、椎间融合器的3D打印产品获得CFDA注册批准,使我国在3D打印用于骨外科领域,处于国际领先地位,获得多项国家发明专利。取得了阶段性的重大成果,并实现了科研成果的转化和课题的滚动发展。真正实现了“B-to-B-to-B (Bedside to Bench to Bedside)”的转化。2017年,3D打印人工椎体签署科研成果转化协议,首期转化1000万元。2018年刘忠军主任获得北京市科技进步一等奖。目前,已在国内外期刊发表论文941篇,出版专著20余部,申请专利79项,获得专利44项。

Beijing Key Laboratory of Spinal Disease

 

Brief Overview

Beijing Key Laboratory of Spinal Diseaseis the predecessor of the Orthopaedic Laboratory of Peking University Third Hospital. It was established in the 1970s. The Beijing Key Laboratory of Spinal Disease was approved by the Beijing Science and Technology Commission in 2011, and achieved ‘Excellent Performance’ in the evaluation from the Beijing Science and Technology Commission in 2015. In 2016, Our 3D printed artificial spine and CAGE were firstly appeared in China. In 2017, the scientific research results on the 3D printed artificial spine were signed an agreement on the first phase of transformation with 10 million Yuan. The laboratory is striving to create a base for scientific research, a cradle for talent cultivation, and a platform for technology translation.

Research Areas

Based on clinical spinal diseases, translational medicine researches are carried out to explore and solve clinical problems, including: ①investigating the pathogenesis of spine degeneration such as spine deformities, spine tumors and osteoporosis, screening new therapeutic targets, and developing practical diagnostic and therapeutic techniques for spinal diseases; basic research and clinical diagnosis/treatment development ofatlantoaxial dislocations; basic research and clinical diagnosis/treatment development of spine tumors; ④research and development of orthopedic implants, bone tissue engineering, bone healing theories and techniques. All the researches will lead to independent intellectual property rights, and promote the basic research results into clinical translation, and improve the overall level of prevention and treatment of spinal diseases.

Strength Highlights

The laboratory currently has 32 permanent staff, including 25 people with tenure professor positions. Among the experts in the laboratory , one serves as deputy Chair director of the Spinal Cord Trauma Committee of Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine, one serves as managing director of the Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine, one serves as deputy Chair director of Medical Association of osteoporosis and mineral disease, Beijing, one serves as deputy Chair director of Medical Association of osteoporosis and mineral disease in Chinese Medical Association Society, three serves as Permanent Member of Orthopaedic Committee in Chinese Medical Association Society, two were honored as Young and Middle-Aged Experts with Outstanding Contributions by the Ministry of Health, one serves as Leader of Innovative Team by the Ministry of Education, one was honored as New Century Excellent Talents by the Ministry of Education, and two were honored as New Academic Stars from Beijing Science and Technology Commission. There are total 139 professional and academic positions in the national organizations occupied by the lab experts.

The laboratory now has eight technological platforms including molecular biology, cell biology, bone histomorphology, molecular imaging, biomechanics, neurophysiology, clinical drug research, and clinical epidemiology. The lab has been equipped with the small-animal X-ray machine, small animal DEXA, micro-CT/SPECT, Atomic Force Microscope/nano-indentation, Biomechanical reactors,Hard tissue slices and other special orthopedic research equipment to provide open services. Moreover, the lab has already established a complete scientific research follow-up team.

The laboratory has made great progresses in the new theory investigation, technique innovations, and therapeutic technique popularization of difficult spinal diseases. At present, the laboratory has 14 ministerial awards.

Professor Liu Zhongjun team initiated 3D printing and implant research on spinal surgery in the world. In 2014, it is the worldwide first time that 3D printing technology was used for personalized treatment of atlantoaxial malignant tumors. In 2015, registration of China’s first 3D printed human implant - the artificial hip joint product - was approved by the State Food and Drug Administration (CFDA). In 2016, 3D printed human implants - 3D printing products for vertebral prostheses and interbody fusion cages - were also approved by CFDA, making our technology and experience of 3D printing in the field of orthopedic surgery stay world lead, and achieved the real "B-to-B-to-B (Bedside to Bench to Bedside)" translation. In 2017, the scientific research results on the 3D printed artificial spine were signed an agreement on the first phase of transformation with 10 million Yuan. Professor Liu acquired the Beijing municipal science and technology awards in 2018. At present, the laboratory has 941 papers publicated in domestic and international journals, more than 20 books published, 95 patents applied and 45 approved.
